Emerging mobility trends

The emerging mobility trends that cities have seen in recent years range from electric mobility to shared mobility systems, present new opportunities to reduce individual ownership and usage of private vehicles.

As local governments are regulating the industry to create a level playing field, the needs of commuters must be considered.

ICLEI’s key activities include:
We support local governments to understand the different policy and market drivers to maximize the benefits of electric mobility and new mobility services to support an ecomobile vision.
We promote sustainable transport models and aim to reduce dependence on fossil fuels. We are a signatory to the Driving Change Together – Katowice Partnership for Electromobility Declaration prepared by Poland and the United Kingdom. It is an impetus to ensure that all people can live in clean, citizen and environmentally friendly cities by making efforts to promote electromobility and clean transport.
