EcoMobility Days

The EcoMobility Days combines the main elements that the EcoMobility Alliance offers its members, supporting them in enhancing sustainable mobility, good practice exchanges, tools and methodology trainings and offering a space for high-level discussions on the future of urban mobility.

The EcoMobility Days was launched in 2015 by ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability. It brings together mayors, representatives of local, regional and national governments, international and local organizations, businesses, members of civil society and researchers as well as other stakeholders from the international community who come to share their ideas, successes and challenges concerning the advancement of sustainable urban mobility.

Organized by the EcoMobility Alliance, the EcoMobility Days forms a part of the technical workshop series of the Alliance. It combines the main elements that the Alliance offers its members, supporting them in enhancing sustainable mobility, good practice exchanges, tools and methodology trainings and offering a space for high-level discussions on the future of urban mobility.

At Autonomy & Urban Mobility Summit, Paris, France, 16-17 October 2019

EcoMobility Days 2019

In 2019, the EcoMobility Alliance partnered with Autonomy, an annual international event that brings innovators and policy makers together to change the way we move in cities, to host the EcoMobility Days during the Autonomy & Urban Mobility Summit 2019, taking place in Paris, France from 16-17 October 2019.

The EcoMobility Days 2019 presented ICLEI’s work on sustainable mobility and all cities had the opportunity to identify the common interest among each other and to discuss collaboration opportunities. Representatives of cities shared their current core works and developments on sustainable mobility in their cities while exploring future points of interest for collaboration.

COP23, Bonn, Germany, 23 November 2017

EcoMobility Days 2017

City leaders, including those from the Alliance cities, came together at the Cities & Region Pavilion at COP23 to present the actions they have taken to advance ecomobility in their cities. The Kaohsiung Strategies for the Future of Urban Mobility was further endorsed by city leaders in Bonn and was discussed and mentioned in transport meetings elsewhere at COP23.

EcoMobility Days Quito 2016

The EcoMobility Days combined the main elements that the Alliance offers its members: support cities to enhance its sustainable mobility; allow for good practice exchanges; provide tools and methodology for training and provide a space of high-level discussions. In total, 60 speakers from more than 25 countries exchanged practices, visions of the future of urban mobility and concrete tools during the intense 5-day program attended by over 250 participants.

EcoMobility Days 2016 Report

We have summarised the EcoMobility Days in this report where we wish to convey the innovation and enthusiasm that emerged throughout the event. Cities demonstrated during these five days their great commitment to ecomobility. Alliance cities and local governments from across the world presented their efforts delivering sustainable urban mobility in their specific context.

Participants of the EcoMobility Days 2016 explored the challenges to finance sustainable urban mobility and implement mobility in the context of the Sustainable Development Goals. A great number of critical topics were covered during the conference, including clean vehicles and clean air in cities, as well as safe and healthy routes to school. Finally, taking advantage of the great attendance of the conference by Latin American cities, participants also had the opportunity to hear from specific ecomobility efforts in these cities on topics such as active mobility and public transport.
