ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability is a global network of more than 2,500 local and regional governments committed to sustainable urban development.
Through the Sustainable Mobility agenda, ICLEI supports its Members to provide access to safe, affordable, accessible, resilient, low-emission and sustainable mobility systems to create livable cities that fulfill the mobility needs of all.

Taoyun City
The fifth-largest populated city on the island of Taiwan, Taoyuan is an international transport hub and logistic industry center, home of the 11th busiest airports worldwide by international passenger traffic and the 8th busiest by international freight traffic. Taoyuan hosts over 200 of Taiwan’s top 500 manufacturing companies, outranking all other island’s cities for industrial output.
ICLEI Member since 2011, Taoyuan now serves as the chair for the first international ICLEI EcoLogistics community.
How do we achieve our vision?
The Kaohsiung Strategies for the Future of Urban Mobility guide the implementation of ICLEI’s sustainable mobility vision at the local level. The strategies focus on integrated urban planning, improving the health and quality of life for all, reducing the dependency on private automobiles and applying sustainability principles.
