International Conference on Urban Green Logistics
10 September 2019
Lianyungang, Jiangsu Province, China
The International Conference on Urban Green Logistics is organized as part of the 6th China (Lianyungang) Silk Road International Logistics Expo. With urbanization and economic development, the demand for logistics and freight transportation in Chinese and international cities is increasing, exerting pressure on the environment and resources. While logistics and freight are often thought in a more regional and global thinking, pressure at a local and urban level is increasingly prominent with new trends driving new behavior.
Against this background, this international conference, co-organized by the Lianyungang Municipal People’s Government and ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability, will convene international and Chinese cities and experts. The focus of this conference is to deliberate on challenges and opportunities for sustainable and green urban logistics, from a global context to local implementation.
The conference was divided into the following sessions:
- When global trends meet cities: Integrating BRI and SDGs for sustainable development in urban freight
- Innovations for sustainable urban freight: Changing cities, businesses and society
- The future of urban freight: Improving last-mile delivery
