Engaging stakeholders is critical throughout the planning of the transportation system. This process is the foundation of an equitable mobility framework as it improves acceptability and legitimacy of the plan or project, enables making informed decisions, and enhances ownership of the public. It is thus essential for local authorities to have in place robust communication and stakeholder engagement strategy.
This is the first webinar of the CitiesSHIFT project webinar series. It addressed the current challenges cities face in implementing an inclusive stakeholder participation process. It also presented different strategies, innovative and digital tools with international best practices from cities to ensure that sustainable mobility can be planned in an inclusive and people-oriented manner.
